Traveling with a small child

The appearance of a baby in the family should not and will not interfere with your travels. Just parents should know about some of the features and difficulties of this case and be ready for them.

Traveling with a small child

So, we are going on a journey with a small child

Babies are usually very adaptive, and if the mother is nearby, they can easily endure the difficulties of the flight. And by the way – babies do not get seasick. But the consultation of a pediatrician still will not be superfluous, perhaps the baby has some features of development or he has recently suffered diseases that can interfere with the flight.

It is believed that you can fly with babies from the age of one week. They travel for free until they are two years old, and when they are older, they travel at a discount. When booking tickets, be sure to find out what children’s accessories will be provided by the airline – the missing ones will have to be taken from home. If the airline’s list of services includes baby food, please let us know if you may need it during the flight.

At the airport

Here you have a lot to do: register tickets, weigh the stroller, and deliver it to the oversized cargo section. However, a light stroller can be taken on Board for free – it is better for the baby to sleep in it before departure.

When passing inspection, as a rule, parents with small children are allowed to pass without a queue, sometimes through the business class zone. Parents can bring baby food, water and juices on Board.

On board

Mothers with babies in the salon are usually placed in the first row – it is quieter and there is more free space. On the wall opposite the seat, a cradle with a set of underwear is placed – the baby can sleep in it until the landing. Some airlines also provide diapers, feeding bottles, and coloring books and toys for older children.

If you still get a seat in other rows of the cabin, it is best to be located at the window. Your neighbors will not disturb the baby’s sleep if they want to get up and walk around the salon. And if your baby can already walk, it is better to choose a place at the aisle. Your child may get bored after sitting for hours and want to explore the airplane space.

Be sure to bring a bottle of water and a pacifier (it helps from laying ears during takeoff), books and toys. If you are traveling with a laptop is great, it is possible to download cartoons and children’s games.

Landing!

After arriving at the airport, it is better to relax and not rush anywhere. In principle, traveling with a small child is generally better not to rush anywhere. Do not count on the fact that you and your child will be able to pass passport control without a queue, then get your Luggage. It will still have to wait with other passengers, it is better to get your stroller in the oversized cargo section first.
